Professional & Educational Standards Committee vacancies

Two vacancies have arisen for membership of the Professional and Educational Standards Committee (PESC). Reporting to Council, this is the Institute committee that oversees the examinations and membership procedures, promotes professionalism among the members and oversees the CPD process. The Institute’s regulations stipulate that members serve for two years plus an additional two years if wished (four year maximum).

The committee is looking for Chartered members to fill the two vacancies in order to strengthen its representation. We are keen to hear from people who feel they can make a contribution, particularly if they are working in arboriculture or work/have knowledge of academia.

The committee meets virtually three times a year (January, May and September). Occasionally sub-committees meet to deal with specific themes, for example Higher Education course accreditation. Posts are not remunerated, but expenses are paid.

If you are interested in becoming a member of PESC and would like more information, please contact the Institute’s Senior Education and Outreach Officer, Dr Rob Hawkins.  To be considered in this recruitment, please provide a short statement covering how your skills and experience could best be used in this role. This should be between 200 and 400 words and be sent to Dr Rob Hawkins no later than 17:00 on 28 February 2023.
