Job description

Working at Forestry and Land Scotland is all about ‘People, Pride and Purpose.’ Join us and take pride in supporting the economy, protecting and enhancing the environment by managing Scotland’s National forests and land.

This role is central to delivering our expanding timber harvesting programmes across the region. They will lead a team of foresters, supervisors, and machine operators to plan and deliver safe, efficient harvesting operations that meet marketing and sales targets.

As the regional leads for harvesting these posts manage the function, coordinate timber supply contracts, and work closely with planning, programming, and engineering teams to ensure smooth, effective delivery of our sales programme.

The regional team is based across three main offices in Lochgilphead, Oban, and Fort William with satellite offices, workshops and yards located across the Region. The Regions forestry programmes are significant and include an increasing harvesting, marketing and sales programme climbing to 880,000 cubic metres from April 2026. These roles will play an important contribution to supporting this.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in the application of modern commercial forestry practice and good health and safety practice.
