Holding proven experience and knowledge in the forestry sector, the Forest Manager will be part of an expanding team of dedicated professionals.  Excelling in fostering client relationships, you will work seamlessly within the team to ensure business goals are achieved.  Covering South West England, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of woodland and forestry clients, overseeing day-to-day operations, and implementing forestry management plans.  An exciting opportunity for a proven forest manager looking to make a difference.

 Role responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain client relationships; providing advice and business support
  • Oversee forestry operations on behalf of the client to agreed standards and budget
  • Manage and secure any grant funding for clients and ensure full compliance with industry standards
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the business strategy is met
  • Market the timber harvested and explore new opportunities to maximise clients investments
  • Explore and secure new business opportunities

 

Skills you will need

Essential:

  • Good forestry knowledge and experience of UK Forestry standards, grant applications, and timber markets
  • Proven operational experience within the forestry sector
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to provide financial reporting and performance
  • The drive to look for new business opportunities
  • Abreast of the current forestry market and natural capital opportunities
  • Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of GIS mapping systems
  • Full UK driving licence

 

Desirable:

  • Relevant forestry or land-based qualification

 

Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (or working towards)
