Job description

F&W Forestry has an exciting opportunity for you to join our forestry management team in South England based from our Exeter office. We expect that you will manage and expand the Company’s private and Institutional client base in that area, engaging and meeting with new and existing clients and maintaining a positive work environment.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of forest properties, ensuring that projects maintain a profitable and cost-effective trading position, ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety, UKFS and UKWAS standards, at all times that we meet our clients’ objectives.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the effective management of your client properties and the resources required to deliver the effective management of such, to deliver annual work programmes, to ensure compliance with company procedures and to provide a 1st class service to our clients whilst managing the finances of the projects ensuring timely billing and cost control.

Requirements

We are seeking highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Ideally a forestry degree with an additional 5 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred. Computer skills and other digital skills are necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

Essential functions

Includes the ability to traverse distances over uneven terrain, work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmental conditions, must be able to work independently during the working week and completing tasks in a timely manner. Must have a UK driving licence.

An experienced manager who embraces new technology in a digital format. Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours to suit the varied projects and locations that we cover. A people person who understands the pressures of modern life and the impacts on staff members, contractors and clients, but can strike a balance in meeting the needs of the business and those involved.

Salary

Commensurate with experience and education. Other benefits include Salary sacrifice pension scheme, 25 days plus nine public holidays per year, cycle to work scheme, company vehicle provision with reasonable private mileage, Life insurance.

Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable
