Scottish Forestry is seeking to recruit a Forest Planning Advisor to provide professional advice within the organisation and to key Stakeholders. Scottish Forestry is the Scottish Government agency responsible for forestry policy, support and regulations. The post lies within the Sustainable Forest Management team which is responsible for promoting best practice on a wide range of issues, including climate change, cultural heritage, water, soil and biodiversity.
You will be involved in policy development and delivery in the area of integrated forest planning and landscape design. It will involve reviewing our current approach to forest planning and helping to create plans that articulate outcomes for the creation and management of existing woodlands. It will also ensure that these plans are well placed to deal with future climate and economic change.
We are looking for someone who is keen to use their initiative to develop ideas on how best to contribute to the wider objectives and functions of the agency and is keen to work across teams and is comfortable balancing objectives and applying those on the ground.
