Job description

Scottish Forestry is looking for a Forestry Sector Development Advisor to join our National Office team. This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working options.

In this key role, you will be instrumental in delivering the Scottish Government’s forestry priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on forestry sector issues for key enterprises and leadership groups
  • Leading initiatives to increase the use of Scottish timber in construction
  • Managing the “Roots for Further Growth” programme budget
  • Collaborating with industry partners to add value to Scotland’s wood supply chains
  • Driving the sector’s skills and careers agenda and championing decarbonisation efforts
  • Providing ministerial support and managing a small team of advisors.

We offer hybrid working, allowing you to divide your time between our offices, working from home, and visiting relevant sites.

You’ll be joining a welcoming team of experienced professionals who will support your success. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the sustainable future of Scotland’s forests.

Scottish Forestry is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.

Interviews will be held at the Scottish Forestry office, Saughton House Edinburgh in September.

Closing date: 25 August 2024
