Job description

Landmarc Support Services are currently looking to recruit a Forestry Works Manager, based at Longmoor Camp in Liss, Hampshire, working as a member of our Rural teams across the South East and East Regions of the Defence Training Estate.

This person will be managing contracts for timber harvesting, site restoration, preparation and restocking, the establishment of new plantations, tree safety works and ash dieback operations.

You will ideally have two years of working knowledge of the Forest Works Manager role in an operational context, be able to demonstrate an understanding of the main forestry operations and the controls needed to protect people and the environment, have a working knowledge of preparing and delivering UK Forestry Standard compliant woodland management plans and have experience working in team situations and demonstrate an ability to effectively manage people and cope with challenging situations to get the best results for all concerned

You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages and GIS, have a Degree, HNC/HND/NVQ or equivalent relevant qualification/experience in Forestry, as well as Membership of, or working towards membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.

You will also have a full driving licence valid in the United Kingdom, and have the ability to regularly travel in the undertaking of the role across the South East and East regions

Please note provisional dates for first interviews will be either during week commencing 4 March or 11 March. Second stage interviews provisional date of the 20 March.
