Job description

The Duchy of Cornwall is a dynamic future-focused landed estate dedicated to creating positive impact for people, places and the planet. We’re passionate about creating transformative change for the communities we serve by building healthy, environmentally sustainable communities and supporting a thriving planet to build a better future together.

We’re looking for a motivated and independent individual with a genuine passion for sustainable forest management to support our woodland creation work, from identifying suitable sites and developing plans to coordinating planting, maintenance, and grant applications. You’ll work closely with colleagues and teams across the Duchy, liaise with farmers, contractors, and external partners, and help ensure projects meet UKFS and UKWAS standards.

You’ll play a key role in supporting budget forecasting, contributing to Woodland Carbon Code administration, and representing the organisation at industry events such as the Royal Cornwall Show and ICF CPD sessions.

You’ll bring a forestry-related degree (or equivalent), and if you’re close to completing your studies, we still encourage you to apply – appointments can be made subject to successful completion (second-class honours minimum). We’re looking for someone professional, driven, and capable of building strong working relationships, with a clear commitment to the Duchy’s objectives and a solid understanding of the UK Forestry Standard.

So – if you’re ready to kickstart your forestry career and help create resilient, impactful woodlands for the future, we’d love to hear from you! For more information and to apply, please visit our careers page.

Closing date: 19th January 2026.

We conduct first interviews on Teams and second interviews in person.
