Job description
This role will take on responsibility for preparing and delivering the plans and strategies required to help manage and control Ips typographus incursions, interceptions, and outbreaks across England.
This work involves managing a dedicated team, developing, and maintaining an outbreak management system, assembling, maintaining, and providing incident information and disseminating information relevant to the control of incursions, interceptions, outbreaks, and any potential safety issues.
There are many interactions across the functions of the PHF team and the wider FC, and the post holder will work closely with the other managers in the FC to help inform management and policy decision making. This dedicated role is required to take account of the ever-increasing number of quarantine pests and diseases being found in England and the risks associated with Ips typographus.
