About SLM Partners

In the UK, we will focus on transitioning commercial forests to Continuous Cover Forestry silviculture, developing new mixed-species woodlands, and integrating natural capital and carbon income streams alongside timber production.

  • Develop and implement management plans aligned with SLM’s CCF and afforestation strategy
  • Identify and deliver new afforestation projects meeting investment criteria
  • Oversee the work of forest managers to deliver high-quality operations
  • Prepare budgets, valuations, and performance reports for investors
  • Ensure compliance with UKFS, UKWAS, and environmental regulations
  • Engage effectively with local stakeholders and regulators

Skills and experience

  • Degree in Forestry, Environmental Management, or related discipline
  • Proven experience managing forestry acquisitions and assets, ideally with CCF exposure
  • Knowledge of UK forestry regulations, grant schemes, and certification standards
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland/wider UK

What we offer

  • Opportunity to lead an innovative new forestry investment mandate of scale
  • Collaborative, mission-driven work environment
  • Competitive remuneration and flexible hybrid working
