Woodland Trust has new Chief Executive

The Woodland Trust have announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Beccy Speight.

Ms Speight has previously spent 14 years at the National Trust in a number of roles, most recently Director for the Midlands. In her earlier career, she was involved in management consultancy, including a role as Director at Smythe Dorward Lambert.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining the Woodland Trust, especially at a time when the natural environment is under such pressure. I have admired the Trust’s passion and professionalism from afar for a number of years – it’s a charity that’s always punched above its weight.

“I’m really looking forward to helping the Trust make that important next step up and ensuring the value of woods and trees is known and appreciated by all.”
